Son Leaving for College Gifts Mom a Special Book and There Isn’t a Dry Eye In the House

Every boy mama is melting.

Even though the goal of parenting is to raise our children to be independent and live full lives without our help, it sure can be hard seeing them take their first steps into adulthood when they leave the house for college. It's hard to fathom not seeing your child every day — are they sure they don't want to just live at home forever instead? 

But one son on TikTok made sure to make his departure extra special for his mom. He gave her a special gift — a book that most of us have read to our children at least a time or two — and read a particularly relevant part to her out loud.

Yes, the book he pulled out does happen to be I'll Love You Forever by Robert Munsch — AKA the saddest children's book in existence. And to make the moment even more of a tearjerker, he insisted on reading the ending to his mom right there at the table. Holy bucket of tears!
