Mom Perfectly Explains How Summer Mom Guilt Can Put a Lot of Pressure on Parents

We only get 18 summers...

For stay-at-home moms and working moms alike, summer breaks from school can come with a lot of pressure. It's a lot of days in a row to fill, after all, and some kids can really be thrown off by their school year routine coming to an end. And then, there's all the pressure that we seem to get from all directions, reminding us that our kids only have a limited amount of summers as kids, so we need to make the most of it.

Anyone else get stressed just thinking about it?

There's at least one mom out there who knows how you feel, and in a TikTok video, she managed to perfectly capture the feeling of mom guilt we get when we don't make summer quite as magical for our kids as we hoped.

Along with footage of a mom collapsing into bed with the baby monitor, the caption on the video says, "POV you spent the day ~making memories~ with your kids because 'you only have 18 summers with them.'"

It's a new kind of tired that happens to moms in the summer... and the pressures of pool days, trips to the playground and the splash pad, and planning actual vacations, we really do feel like collapsing into bed by the time the day is over.

Our kids only do have 18 summers before they're legally adults and for some of them, college bound, so it's hard not to try to make the most of this time with them. But our kids make some amazing memories just hanging out at home with Mom, too — don't forget that!
