As much as we know toddlers love to create art, it can be a bit of a challenge teaching them how to do it. It takes a little convincing to get them to color on the paper, not the table, and that drinking the water they dip their paint brush in is a bad idea, of course. But once they get the hang of it, they love to create masterpieces that will be so much fun for us to look back on years from now.

But if you've just been displaying their artwork on the fridge so far, it looks like you're really missing out. One mom on TikTok let her toddler paint a giant canvas that she then hung in her living room, and we're genuinely amazed at how well this turned out!

This mom — who happens to be a professional artist herself — had originally planned to use that canvas for something else, until she had a better idea. She gave him paints (he selected warm tones instead of cool tones) and some big, easy to use brushes and let him go to town, and go to town he did. Mom made sure not to interfere with her son's artistic process, and it looks like he had a lot of fun painting his little heart out.

The end result was a piece of art that he made all by himself, suitable for hanging in their home.

"Toddlers make the best contemporary artists," she wrote.

This is too awesome! Not only did she find an activity for him to do that he enjoyed and that kept him busy for awhile (not to mention one that allowed him to practice using his creative muscles), but she ended up with a one-of-a-kind piece of art that holds so much special meaning in her home.

If you have a budding artist of your own, this is definitely worth a try!
