Mom Initiates “Twilight Bark” Call When Daughter Goes Missing in Mall and What Happened Was Incredible

The world isn’t such a bad place.

It's every parent's worst nightmare: You're out in public somewhere with your child, you turn your back for one second, and they disappear. Kids can vanish in the blink of an eye and it's unbelievably scary. How do you even begin finding them?

In this video from @thevrconsultantsultans, a mom tells the harrowing story of recently losing her 4-year-old and having to initiate her first "Twilight Bark." If you don't know what a "Twilight Bark" is, it's from the classic Disney movie 101 Dalmatians, and it's a way that dogs use to communicate with the other dogs in the community at twilight...and how the mom and dad dog find their puppies when they get stolen.

As most parents would, this mom just started screaming her child's name and physical description. But what happened next was remarkable. One man took up her cause, and then...the whole entire mall.

Isn't that an unbelievable story? The mall went into lockdown!! To keep her child safe! This is such an inspiring story of community with the absolute happiest ending possible. It's what should happen every single time something like this occurs. If community was always this strong, every child would always be accounted for.

Commenters were so moved by this mom's experience, feeling her fear and relief. Ultimately, people were really inspired by the story:
"Every parent take note. TWILIGHT BARK!"
"Just sitting here bawling imagining a horrifying but amazing moment."
"As a Mom I’m crying & happy. Best of all is The Fabulous Gentleman. This story is great!! Your appreciation is endearing"
"people need to connect with that primal tribal feeling. we are a village and we need each other. thank you."
"I'm so sorry you went through that. it's scary to not be able to find your kid. So thankful everyone helped though. this made me cry"
"Wow! I’m in tears.. that’s beautiful.. thanks for sharing. I hope I never have to go through that but if I ever do, I hope i get a response like this."

This is a one-of-a-kind, life-changing experience, even for the people reading it. Thank goodness the little girl is okay!
