Unfortunately, part of being a parent is saying "no." It's not always because we want to, but because we have to — because our child is doing something unsafe, or because they're asking for something we just don't have the time or money to make happen. If only we could give our kids everything they ask for!
But it's such a gift to see their faces light up when we get to see "yes," and there's one mom out there who has made it a tradition to give her kids a "yes day" every year. Her kids are able to do whatever they want (within reason), and after seeing this video, we want to start doing this with our kids, too!

Much like the Jennifer Garner Netflix movie Yes Day, this mom fully handed over the reigns to her kids for the entire day. They started out with a budget of $100, and they even got to pick our what their mom wore (even though it involved a superhero mask. LOL!).
Her kids also requested to do things like have donuts for breakfast, go geocaching and to the playground. Midday, they decided to see a movie (complete with popcorn, soda, and snacks) and go mini-golfing. They ended the day with breakfast for dinner at home and some basketball with Mom.
Mom was totally wiped out by the end of the day, but it looks like they all had fun — and interestingly enough, a lot of the things the kids chose to do were totally free.
This family must have made such awesome memories together. This is definitely a tradition worth trying out ourselves.
