I have a single 33 year old daughter with three children. She relocated away from our hometown to move closer to her ex-husband in another state. While there she finished her Master's degree and entered into another relationship in which she became pregnant. She cannot find work in her field. She's obviously overwhelmed. She experiences one emergency after another and never has the resources to recover and is always one step from disaster. What can I do?
You do not have to do anything. If she is not calling asking for help, then you are do not need to rush in and fix her life. Is her situation ideal? No. Her lack of resources is HER issue. She can work in most school districts with a masters degree as either a substitute or a teacher. It doesn't pay a lot but, it will give her an income with benefits. Let her fix her life. She is making bad decisions. If she got through school she is not dumb, let her figure it out.
