I have parents and a sister. We don't have healthy communication. I cannot stand when my mom is lying, and she is not changing. My sister is not respecting my boundaries, and my father is judging and controlling. I don't see me growing with them. Because I am a twenty-year-old student, I dependant on them. I feel like manipulating them, because I can't stand them. What should I do?
While I understand finances are more difficult for millennials thanks to the debt, we previous generations ran up, freedom from a toxic family is still achievable.
I recommend getting a job in addition to your studies. Also, apply for every scholarship you qualify for. Look into student housing, both on and off campus to find affordable accommodations.
It is work, but it is worth every bit of the effort.
