First, we should never discount a person's feelings. Obviously she stayed in your home for a lot longer than most people. The security that your home brought her was something she needed. However, it also kept her from developing her own sense of security. Ask her what she is worried about? While her fear may be unrealistic, she still has it. Consider that this fear that she never faced may be driving her motivation. I'm noticing lately that the over use of social media is making this generation feel a sort of hyper insecurity about the world around them. Find out what she is worried about and then help her. We are safer in our world today than we were 20 year ago, yet we have access to an entire world full of bad news. It can be discouraging and scary.
