What do you do first when beginning an Elementary science fair project?

The first thing we always do when getting started is put the board together. Then, we type out the whole project on a computer or to write it neatly on note paper. This way, you can see how much text you have to fit on the board. Also, using a computer lets you change the font type and size. Then we print everything out, cut out each section and place it on the board. Next, we put on the headline, the pictures, and any tables or graphs. We don't glue anything down until we've placed it all on the board first and made sure it fits and looks good. Generally, if we are putting a colored matt around anything on the board, we do that before gluing. Finally, we've found that rubber cement works very well to glue things down flat.
