Thanks for your excellent question! This is a bit confusing, so bear with me. If this is a fun patch, given to the girl for participating in an event, then it goes on the back of the vest or sash. However, if it is one of the badges earned for Civic Engagement, Inside Government, Finding Common Ground, Behind the Ballot, or Public Policy, then it goes on the front. These G.I.R.L badges include: Good Neighbor (Daisies), Celebrating Community (Brownies), Inside Government (Juniors), Finding Common Ground (Cadettes), Vote Behind the Ballot (Seniors), and Public Policy (Ambassadors). If you are still unsure, check the shape of the badge or patch. If it is shaped similarly to other badges your scout has, then it too is a badge. If it is a general oval shape or an odd shape, then it is likely a fun patch.
